One of the most rewarding parts of being involved in the Whidbey Island community is having the opportunity to support and celebrate the next generation through programs like Whidbey Island scholarships that help students take important steps toward their future. Through the Windermere Foundation, I am honored to help recognize local students who are working hard to build meaningful careers and pursue their goals.

This year, I had the privilege of awarding two $2,000 Windermere Foundation scholarships to graduating seniors who are continuing their education through technical and vocational programs.

Congratulations to our 2026 scholarship recipients:

Killian from Coupeville High School, who will be attending Bellingham Technical College, and Madison from Oak Harbor High School, who will be attending Evergreen Beauty College.

I am incredibly proud of both students and excited to see what they accomplish in the years ahead. Their dedication, perseverance, and commitment to their chosen career paths are exactly what these scholarships were created to celebrate.

These scholarships are especially meaningful to me because they recognize students choosing trade schools, certification programs, community colleges, and other hands-on educational opportunities. There are so many rewarding careers that do not follow a traditional four-year college path, and I believe these opportunities deserve just as much recognition, encouragement, and investment.

Watching these students work toward their goals is a reminder of why community involvement matters. A scholarship may be one piece of their journey, but knowing it can help ease some of the financial burden and provide encouragement as they move forward makes it incredibly worthwhile.

As a Realtor on Whidbey Island, I see every day what makes this community special, and that includes the people who live here, work here, and are building their futures here. Supporting local students is one of the ways we can help ensure our community continues to thrive for generations to come.

The Windermere Foundation is committed to supporting communities where we live and work. Through the generosity of Windermere agents, clients, and community members, funds raised help support local families and create opportunities for students through scholarships and other programs.

If you or someone you know is interested in applying for the Windermere Foundation Scholarship in the future, keep an eye out for the 2027 scholarship application details. I would be happy to answer any questions and help connect students with resources as they plan their next steps.

Congratulations again, Killian and Madison! I cannot wait to see all that you accomplish, and I am grateful to be a small part of your journey.
